The Prayer Mix-Up

The Prayer Mix-Up

sun-treesPraise reports and prayer requests: how we get them mixed up.

We think prayer requests involve the tough challenges of life and praise reports involve the positives. But we can praise God for the tough stuff. After all, it is often what grows us most. And the things we see as positive? We’d better pray about them, because they are often the things that throw us off track, distracting us from what’s important.

I’m not surprised we twist the two around at times. After all, God’s perspective isn’t always what makes sense to us. The last will be first. We lose our life to gain it.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. (1 Corinthians 1:25)
