After an all-evening meal with a friend, I remembered I needed to stop by the grocery store before going home. I couldn’t delay another day. I was fixing meals for a couple families for the next night and needed to prep a couple dishes and start the slow cooker.
Being up late, preparing food, and praying for others was a joy. I was tired yet energized as I dropped into bed well after midnight. I woke up refreshed and ready for the day ahead.
Serving others is nearly always energizing to me. It was worth a brief night of sleep. Every time we serve, we sacrifice something.
Choose well. Serve generously. Invest in others. Savor the impact it has on them and on you.
