Write to Persist

Write to Persist

The comment caught me off guard, because I wouldn’t use the word courageous to describe how I felt through writing Fractured Into Wholeness. Obedient is the best word I can choose. It wasn’t an easy book to write. It wasn’t fun to revisit some of the pain I’d experienced. But it was something I leaned into because I was confident God was not only prompting but providing every step of the way. I rarely wrestled with what to include, although I sometimes struggled to find the best way to retell something so that it was both authentic and respectful. God kept my motivations in check throughout, and some of the words I wrote never made it to print. As I received feedback and reread sections with some time to step away every now and then, I knew some things I’d written were important for me to process but not helpful for me to share.

I wrote because to not write would have been disobedient.

Perhaps it appears courageous to some. Perhaps unsettling to others. Not everyone who reads my journey will be comfortable throughout it, but I know God is using it to encourage and challenge others. Thank you for those who have reached out to share your story.

God not only prompted and provided; he also persisted. And I am thankful I leaned into him and persevered with him. I continue to pray he infuses my story with his purpose.

I invite you to pray the same. Ask him to infuse your story with his purpose, not to make it into something you desire but to mold you into who he intends you to become. Serving him humbly is the greatest blessing I have ever experienced.

  1. This is truly a most blessed place and God-ordained privilege, to have the two interwoven into one, and He truly does it!!

“infuse your story with his purpose”

It’s as if Abba uses it to help preserve us along His path and in His purpose and perfect will! It’s like not being able to do one without the other, and not even desiring to, because its been interwoven into our heart of hearts. When we finally discover this place we know beyond any shadow of doubt that we’ve been both summoned and ushered into a predestined place by the Lord! Oh how sweet this is….

Thank You Lord for such an amazing reminder, and thanks for the vessel that You used to deliver the message!!

  3. Susan, the Lord said to me a few years back that,”we’re living in a day and age where obedience to His voice and commands APPEAR and ARE VIEWED as being radical, when in ACTUALITY it’s just being obedient…

By the grace and power of the Lord, let’s continue to be obedient!
