I’m Not Okay

I’m Not Okay

I’m not okay. I’m well.

That’s not to say everything is perfect. I have daily challenges. I struggle with my attitude and priorities. I go through intense healing seasons. I sense God pruning and disciplining me. I always find new things to learn. I appreciate new experiences as well as familiar experiences that serve as reminders. I don’t minimize the tough stuff, and I don’t dwell in unbalanced positives. I do my best to deal with the truth of my present, as well as past and future. And it’s not easy at times.

There are times I’d respond differently, because I’m not always well. I’m not always okay. Acknowledging what’s true is important. Until we do, we can’t be healthy or well.

My purpose in this post is not to update you as much as to check on you, to invite you to examine your today and consider what needs to change. You often can’t change some truths about your situation, but you can change your response. You can be authentic about what is realistic, what is possible, and what is true. You can trust God to give you the courage to change. Even a slight shift in attitude invites change.
