Welcome to a new Pure Purpose blog feature. Each Monday, I’ll feature This Week’s 7, a simple list about an everyday topic, giving you ideas and encouragement. Because the weather in central Illinois has been unseasonably warm the past several days, and being outside has been a priority to me, I’m kicking off This Week’s 7 with ideas for Sunny Days. Next week? Rainy days, of course!
- Hang your favorite blanket or bedding outside to dry. I know, line drying isn’t as popular as it used to be, but crawling into a bed infused with the fresh scent of outside air is the best!
- Go to a park for an hour. Whether you take your kids or pets – or sit by yourself with a favorite book – savor the sounds of people enjoying play time.
- Refresh some flowers by deadheading – not necessarily your own. Ask if you can help at a local park or a neighbor who has trouble keeping up with what needs to be done around the yard.
- Capture the sunshine with photographs. Look for patterns in nature. Get up close to leaves, buds, and (some) insects. Create a screensaver of your favorite sunny day memories to cheer you up on not-so-sunny days.
- Enjoy ice water with a twist of fruit. Pick your favorite – lime, orange, lemon – and place several slices in your water. Sit in the warmth of the sun and enjoy refreshing sips.
- Stroll through the zoo and enjoy watching the animals. Decide which animals remind you of what people in your life and why.
- Find a song on YouTube that brightens your day and post it on Facebook to share with all your friends.
How do you enjoy sunny days?
