Knowing God by Name: The NEW Girlfriends in God Faith Adventure (Giveaway Time!)

knowinggodbynameI lent my first Girlfriends in God Faith Adventure book to a friend who was going through a rough time. She was questioning her own judgment more than God’s provision, but the result was the same: a faith that seemed to be floundering. My friend isn’t much of a reader, but when she asked me if I had something she could try to study or read while she was on maternity leave, I had just received Trusting God (without having opened the front cover!), and I grabbed it as an option. It’s what she immediately chose, and it spoke into her life, encouraging and challenging her to seek God, grow in faith, and expect a faith-filled adventure as she trusted God.

So, when I heard the next Girlfriends in God Faith Adventure book would be Knowing God by Name, I was excited. This time, I opened it as soon as I received it. I dug in to hear what Girlfriends Sharon, Gwen, and Mary had to say. What I found wasn’t just their words and stories but firmly-rooted lessons of who God is, including his provision and guidance for each of us. I’ve talked with Sharon, Gwen, and Mary several times in the past few years, and they are a bundle of fun. Under the laughter and stories, they’re faith-filled women of God. They are passionate about knowing God’s Word and sharing God with others. They’re not content just to write or speak. They want to share and live faith out loud.

Knowing God by Name isn’t about Sharon, Gwen, and Mary. Yes, you’ll get to know them through the pages, but the book is about God. It’s biblically-based and applicable to your daily life. God wants you to know him more intimately, so he can fill and live through you. That’s how he fulfills the kingdom-purpose through you and others. Knowing God by Name challenges you to know the character of God, declare his promises, and live a life that radiates from his truth.

You can read this book on your own or with a group of any size. It includes plenty of great discussion questions, so even if you choose to read through it on your own, keep a notebook nearby to journal your thoughts as you work through the end of each week. This is a “soak” book. You’ll get a lot more out of it as you steep in the truths it contains, so don’t put it on your read-in-one-day-on-the-beach day. Plan to read one day’s reading each morning, then trust God to reveal himself to you throughout the day in ways consistent with the reading. When you anticipate God working, your sensitivity heightens. He enjoys when you seek and discover him, but you have to do the searching!

Even though I got to read my copy before sharing it this time, I still want to share a copy with you! I’m giving away Knowing God by Name on August 10th. If you want a copy, just click here and enter. You can enter multiple ways every day until the giveaway ends. Enjoy!
