Write a thank you letter to God today. Claim the blessings in your life. Acknowledge the big things and notice the little things as well. What is He providing for you? How is He revealing Himself to you? How is He honoring your faithfulness or extending mercy and forgiveness where you don’t deserve it? What relationships have challenged and encouraged you? How has He placed you in a community that provides you with opportunities to serve Him with humility and generosity? How have you been able to bless others in His name? How have others blessed you in His name?
Don’t worry about the things you want that you don’t have, the things that He provides that you see as “not quite enough.” God decides “enough,” not you. Grow your gratitude for who God is. Express your gratitude for His sovereignty and faithfulness. God doesn’t change, but He changes you. Praise Him for it.
Place the letter somewhere you can read it regularly, once a day for a full week or more. You might add to it throughout the week. Speak your gratitude and claim your thankfulness for who God is and how He blesses your faithful relationship with Him.
Thank you for sharing this. I haven’t commented a lot lately, but I have been reading your posts and using your prompts to journal through some stuff going on in my life.
Fantastic, Shauna!
Simple really. When one is thankful for today’s blessing, big or ‘small’, the door of the next one opens! Thank You God
