Today begins the Summer Scriptures series here at PurePurpose.org.  Each morning through the end of August, you’ll find a brief reading from God’s Word, followed by a question or two (feel free to journal if you want) and a challenge for the day.

Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you furious? And why do you look despondent? If you do what is right, won’t you be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.” (Genesis 4:6-7)

Why are you surprised when you don’t choose well and end up furious, despondent, or unaccepted?

What specific area of desire do you currently need to rule over better?

Today’s Challenge: Pay attention to your emotions. Refuse to rationalize, excuse, or blame. Be honest with the reasons behind your emotions and situations. Then take the next right step.
