No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the fruit of peace and righteousness to those who have been trained by it. (Hebrews 12:11)
Truth.
Oh, the growth I’ve experienced as I’ve been willing to let God sift through the junk and determine what stays and what goes. It’s an ongoing process. Sometimes, it’s painful and overwhelming.
His discipline is uncomfortable. It’s inconvenient. And it seems to never end. I start to understand and be content with something, but he knows I need a tweak. I need to yield a little more, forgive a little deeper, toss out some baggage, or give more sacrificially.
The process can be exhausting and feel harsh at times, but God’s discipline is always in the context of his grace. He cannot separate his characteristics, and grace is who he is. He is also just, compassionate, and powerful.
He is truth.
When I seek him and yield to him, I know truth more deeply, and I trust God more thoroughly.
Invite him to discipline you today.
Amen!!!
