Sometimes confrontation is uncomfortable. Speaking the truth, even when done with as much humility and compassion as possible, is challenging, not just for the speaker but also the listener. It can be unsettling and upsetting to someone who might not want to hear the truth. And it might not visibly change anything. It might seem a worthless waste of time and energy.
But truthful confrontation always changes something or someone. When it’s in obedience, when it honors God’s truth and purpose, it changes our relationship with him. Whether you see it or not, God uses it to influence and grow others.
Speak the truth in love even when it is inconvenient and uncomfortable. Because God’s truth and his love are important.
