I’m a morning person, but not every morning starts with a song for me. I sometimes wake up to “blah.” (I know many people have had the blah experience just about every morning. I am sorry.)

When my day begins with blah, I remind myself the day is God’s and I determine to see where he’ll take it. Even when I’m not giddy about the day, the perspective of it being his, not mine, encourages and settles me.

There’s something about life being about more than me, the bigness of it all, that invites appreciation for purpose. God shifts my perspective. He gives my day – even a blah beginning – context.

I am grateful.
