I turned onto the street and was overwhelmed with the fullness and brightness of the leaves and greenery. Everything seemed to have grown, bloomed, and leafed so quickly. But it wasn’t all that surprising. It happens nearly every year.
Perhaps we all get a bit accustomed to what is around us. Through the dreary seasons, a change in color and growth pleasantly encourages us. Through the colorful seasons, a change can spur disappointment and dreariness. But we need both for appreciation and context. We need to pay attention to the subtle changes.
We need to anticipate turning the corner and savoring every moment of beauty—not just in nature but in relationships, moments, interactions, and all that God provides.
