True hope is never a spiritual bypass. It is never unhealthy.
We morph it into something we’re comfortable with, something that requires no sacrifice or humility. It takes on a me-perspective, what we want and dream, instead of something grander, wiser, beyond us.
True hope can only be rooted in God. It is only a direct connection with him. He guides it. He prunes it. He corrects and encourages us. He keeps us focused—but only as we’re willing.
How healthy is your hope?
