It was so hot at the zoo. It was a holiday, and I was there with family to celebrate. So were many other families. And it was hot. Oh, did I already say that? Well, even months later, it’s seared in my memory.
I appreciate time with my family, even when it’s uncomfortable or inconvenient. We waited in the shade. We enjoyed a lunch inside. We chose the best area of the zoo to explore on the hot day. We didn’t try to do too much. We were on our ways home by early afternoon. The heat couldn’t melt the memories we made.
When the people closest to us are involved, we have heated moments and chilly moments, having nothing to do with the outside temperature. Some of it involves our internal temperatures. Have we riled ourselves up or chosen to be aloof? How does our temperature affect others? We find it easy to blame others because of their temperatures and approaches, but how much ownership do we take for our own?
No matter what you’re doing today or who you’re doing it with, take your temperature and know it affects your relationships and memories.
