Jesus went into the temple complex and drove out all those buying and selling in the temple. He overturned the money changers’ tables and the chairs of those selling doves. And He said to them, “It is written, My house will be called a house of prayer. But you are making it a den of thieves!” (Matthew 21:12-13)

How have you been a thief in your own church? Think outside of material possessions. Have you stolen someone’s dignity, gossiped and diminished respect for someone, stolen attention and honor from God, discouraged someone from using his or her gifts for the body of Christ?

Today’s Challenge: Focus on prayer today, especially prayer for the church and your role in it. Pray for the Church as a whole, for the diversity of all the parts of the Body and for unity. Commit to honoring God by choosing respect for others in the church because of their different gifts, abilities, and personalities.
