Thanks for Thanks

photo-1549032305-e816fabf0dd2I chatted after worship services, and there were very few vehicles in the parking lot when I left. I reached to open the car door, and a thick pack of notecards were tucked into the handle. No one had said anything to me about them.

At the time of this writing, I still have no idea who left them for me.

Yet I am grateful.

I enjoy writing notes of encouragement and gratitude to people. I will put every note to good use.

I chuckled as I pondered who left them for me and why I wanted to know. I wanted to say thanks – for the thank you notes.

So many gifts we receive are anonymous, or we simply don’t make the connection between the gift and the giver. Sometimes we don’t even recognize a gift as a gift or don’t credit the right value to it.

We need to be grateful for more than we expect.

We need to be grateful for provision despite some of the circumstances.

We need to be grateful with wide open eyes and hearts.

We need to be grateful – more often and more deeply than we are.
