My Life with God

Reach for Help

photo-1564121211835-e88c852648abWhy is it so hard to see we need help?

Sometimes we’re too stubborn or proud to reach out, but many times, reaching out simply feels like too much. It’s beyond the scope of our energy and perspective. I especially see it happen with depression and anxiety.

We might know there’s an issue but how do we deal with it? We might not be able to muster the strength or know where to go and what to ask. We’re disoriented and overwhelmed, and it’s all so much.

That’s why it’s important to be familiar with being emotionally and spiritually healthy. We need the plumb line for reference. It’s also important to foster healthy relationships when we can. The more authentic we are through the journeys of our lives, the more people will see us and the inconsistencies and needs and have the insight and investment to speak up and help.

It’s still hard. The more chronic struggles are in our loves, the less prevalent the plumb line of health is. However, I’ve pursued God long enough to know I can trust him wherever I am, whatever I’m facing. And I want you to know you are not alone.

No matter what you are facing, reach out. Please.
