My Life with God

Generous People

photo-1546864831-f1ca1eaf4e2aI reached out for help with my move. I could do some of it, but there was some heavy lifting and transporting that required more people, strength, and equipment. So, I began to reach out for help. People’s responses were generous and kind. The community to which I belong provides abundantly. I don’t know why people continue to surprise me, but I am often overwhelmed with people who say, “Of course, I’ll help.” One person even reached out without being asked. He heard I was moving and asked where he needed to be on what day.

When I ask for help, I try to be prepared. I try to show my appreciation. I try to do my part to acknowledge people’s sacrifice and make things as simple as possible. I try to keep the time commitment to a minimum and to be organized enough to be efficient.

I try to respond to people’s generosity with my own generosity. We all bring different skills to the table, but we can always be generous.

I am thankful for the people in my life. I have some good ones.

So do you. Invest in them well. Acknowledge and appreciate them.

  1. So excited for you & your new home. My brother says of the outpouring from friends & family-“the church being the church”. God has blessed me so much in the last 5 years. Your documentation of experiences reflects so many of my own. With humbleness & gratitude I continue on this journey-not part of my plans-but God using to bring me closer to Him.
    Blessings on you/your home.

    1. Yes! Thank you so much for your encouragement. My book, Fractured Into Wholeness, releases Tuesday, and while it’s a difficult journey to share, I pray others are encouraged and challenged to seek and trust God through shattering experiences. Blessings to you!
