I helped my mom with a few simple get-ready-for-cold-weather tasks, including draining the garden hoses. I knew my dad often drained the hoses by stretching them out on the hill behind their house. It was a way to let gravity do the draining, saving some time and energy.
I offered to walked one end of the hose down the hill, and as I did, I realized we’re a lot like a hose that needs to be drained.
Sometimes we need to be stretched out and left alone for a little bit in order to get rid of what is inside of us.
Stretched yourself out today; then be patient.
