Where do you find your belonging?
It’s important to find a community, a place where we feel as if we belong. It can be more than one group. It’s definitely different people and groups over time. Look at patterns. Where did you feel as if you belonged as a young child, as a teen, young adult, and any time between then and now? When you feel as if you didn’t belong, what were you looking for? How would you have defined belonging? Because we can also fill that belonging need with the wrong relationships and settings. We can belong in dysfunction, because it’s comfortable. We can belong in deception, because we get to manipulate our image.
Is the belonging you seek authentic?
Today is a good day for a reflection of the past and reality check of the present. There is always room to grow.
